DUBAI, May 19 (Reuters) - A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the foreign minister crashed on Sunday while traveling back from a trip to the southern province of Kerman.

Raisi, known for enforcing brutal crackdowns on political opposition, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian are among those feared dead.

Rescuers are searching for the wreckage of the helicopter, which went down in a mountainous area near the city of Rafsanjan.

The cause of the crash is not yet known. There have been conflicting reports about the number of people who were on board the helicopter at the time of the crash.
